Beginning a New Year

We’re just a few days away from starting a bran new year.  I’m sure there’s a handful of people already thinking of ways they want to make changes within their life style.  Then, there maybe a few folks contemplating what the new year may have in store for them?  I sometimes wonder why people worry about what’s in store for them in a whole year, when in our single day so much goes on, and not one of those days are the same!  The greatest attribute to life is, to remember to live each day to the fullest.  There are so many blessing packed within our day that,  whatever, comes your way, be appreciative and thankful for within that single moment, within that day!  One of our greatest challenges will be writing  that 2013 into a 2014.  The pen in our hand, converting that three into a four will seem odd for awhile.  Then, off we go again, into a learning world, making the best of every situation were faced with.  May you all have a blessed new year filled with God’s greatest blessings!

A Christmas story retold every year

From young on, I remember being told the Christmas story of the birth of Jesus.  The story has never changed or ever become old from the many times I’ve heard it.  The baby Jesus laid in a manger filled with hay.  The many people who traveled to see this Prince of Peace, as Mary cradled Him in her arms.  The story brings about a calm feeling from within.  Yet, when we hear about the birth of the baby Jesus, we become excited, and filled with joy.  Who would ever think this little baby would save our sons and daughters?  That He would give sight to the blind and the lame would leap.  That He would change water into wine, calm a storm with his hand.  Most importantly, that he would be the Lord of all creation and rule the nation.  Who would ever think he would be heaven’s perfect lamb?  The story is such a perfect gift given to each and everyone of us.  That story is designed to dwell within us…that He might live His life through us.  That is why the story is retold year after year.  “Jesus is the reason for the season!”

Getting ready for the Christmas Season

By this time of the year most of us are getting pretty excited about the Christmas Season.  The tree is up and decorated with lights, ornaments, tree top, surrounded by a beautiful wrap around tree skirt.  The garland, wreath, and stockings are hung.  The pine scent spreads within your home.  The nativity is arranged, with each figurine having their special place within the stable.  The most important piece, however, is the baby Jesus.  He is the center of attraction for all to see and bless.  With all the beauty of the Christmas season, we need to be decorating our hearts, as well.  We may send a Christmas card, give someone a gift, or telephone a friend at a distance.  It’s fun to be with our loved ones at this time of the year.  May we find some quiet time to thank God for all that He has done for us.  The reflection of the Christmas Season may be as beautiful inside as the world appears outside of us.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

This time of the year, we have not only experienced the low freezing temps, we have also had the snow falling at measurable amounts!  It’s hard to drive from place to place in fear of hitting some black ice, rickety, bumpity, slushey, snow caked roads.  The key to staying safe is to drive at a comfortable pace for the road conditions that are before the wheel of the driver!  Have windshield fluid checked before going on your journey.  Make sure you have enough gas to get to your destination, and have a blanket handy in case your car stalls on you.   Winter can be a challenge for most all of us who have to venture to our jobs everyday.  Safety comes first, that is why we need to plan how to stay safe while were out in this so called, winter wonderland.  Leave early, so you don’t feel rushed, and go with a flow that’s comfortable for you.  You will feel less stressed while traveling to your destination.  Have a great day and stay safe!!
